    1. Most tools can be easily loaded by a single operator.
    2. Easy to store.
    3. All sectionalised tools come pre-cut in nine different pieces.
    4. Most sectionalised punches include two ear pieces (horns).
    5. Punches are induction hardened, to 45-50 HRC but 55-60HRC is available for every punch in the tooling line.
    6. Special Tooling available.

PUNCH SECTION LENGTHS: 100mm LEFT EAR / 100mm RIGHT EAR / 10mm / 15mm / 20mm / 40mm / 50mm / 200mm / 300mm Note: Special lengths are available at additional cost, just select the standard length and ask us to cut to your requirements.

  • Description
  • Over-Bending Capability
The primary advantage of the Acute Punch is its ability to perform over-bending due to its sharp tip angle (typically 30° or less). This is an essential technique in press brake tooling for precisely compensating for the material's inherent springback, especially when working with high-strength steels or thick plates. By intentionally bending the material past the desired final angle, the Acute Punch ensures that the part relaxes back exactly to the required 90-degree or greater angle, guaranteeing high angular accuracy and minimizing rework costs in critical sheet metal bending applications.

    Dual Functionality
The sharp tip of the Acute Punch offers dual benefits in complex metal forming. Firstly, it can be used with specific dies to achieve acute angles (less than 90°) where required by the design. Secondly, the same punch is often the first stage tool in two-step hemming operations—setting the initial tight bend before the final flattening with a dedicated hemming die. This dual functionality increases the versatility of your press brake tool inventory, making the Acute Punch an indispensable component for tackling a wide range of specialized bending applications.
