  • Why Choose U-Style Bending Tools?
U-Style tools are indispensable for forming deep channels, box sections, and U-shaped profiles that have parallel sides and requires a sharp or controlled bottom radius. Unlike standard V-dies, the U-die's specialized geometry provides the necessary deep recess to accommodate the finished part's vertical walls. This tool is chosen when the depth of the bend exceeds the width of the V-opening or when the inside walls must be perfectly vertical and parallel, ensuring high dimensional accuracy for components like frames, brackets, and structural channels.

Optimal Usage and Selection of U-Dies
Selecting the correct U-die involves matching the internal width of the die to the required internal width of your finished U-channel, with careful consideration of material thickness. The U-punch radius must match the required internal radius of the part. Proper use requires setting the press brake down-stroke for bottoming or coining to overcome springback and ensure the parallel walls are fully set. Always verify the maximum bending tonnage required, as U-bending often demands significantly higher force than air bending due to the tight geometric control needed.

Aluminium alloys heat treated Tons per unit length x 100%
Stainless Tons per unit length x 150%
